Xmas Again

The singers again shared the stage with a local choir, the choir of the Puddletown First School. The youngsters sang two songs, 'Follow the Star' by Brad Bradshaw and 'The Gift' by Sheila Wilson. They also joined with the Weatherbury Singers in a rendition of the Gustav Holst/Charlie Skarbeck composition 'World in Union'.

The first half of the venings performances included soloists Veronica Murray and Sarah Armstrong who sang George Harrison's Here Comes the Sun. A medly of songs from World War One, in which the audience's participation was ackowledged, brought us to the interval and the raffle which was in aid of the Milton Abbas Riding for the Disabled.

The gentlemen of the choir led by Bill Preston with a pig's head on a platter started the second half of the evening's entertainment singing 'The Boar's Head Carol'. A traditional Swedish arrangement of 'Christmas is Here Again' was well received by the large audience as was the the performance of soloists Julie Lewis and Sarah Armstrong when they joined to sing 'O Holy Night'.
